ridgeclub is a Toronto-based psychedelic jazz saxophonist. Using a looper pedal and digital audio effects, ridgeclub combines multiple layers of his saxophone into cohesive pieces of music. He draws from other jazz fusion influences such as Flying Lotus and Sam Gendel, as well as hip hop producers like Clams Casino and Madlib. Growing up in a South Indian household, he also draws influences from Indian classical music with melodic ideas pertaining to that style. His first single released in March, "where am i supposed to go?", is a slow and atmospheric instrumental, representing the mixed feelings of being stuck in one's past while finding hope for the future. Since then, he has released 6 songs that all embody similar emotions of hopelessness, grief, and freedom. His 5th single, "do i clench my fists?" has amassed over 50 million streams across DSPs in 6 months.
