Jeremy Hotz Drags His Miserable Ass To Ottawa For Two Shows At The Algonquin Commons Theatre
Toronto, ON (July 16, 2018) – Fondly referred to as “the master of misery”, Gemini Award winning stand-up comedian, actor and writer Jeremy Hotz announced today that he’ll return to his hometown of Ottawa, ON, for two live shows at The Algonquin Commons Theatre on November 23rd. Celebrated for his original style coupled with side splitting takes on everyday life, Hotz confirmed that both “Profoundly Disappointed” shows will be filmed exclusively for a special forthcoming DVD release.
“I’m really looking forward to shooting a comedy special in Ottawa,” shares Hotz. “It’s my hometown! The city where I started stand-up in 1984, at the crummy Beacon Arms Hotel on Albert Street. Jesus…what was I thinking?”
Pre-sale for both shows is Tuesday, July 17th at 10:00 a.m. ET
General on sale for both shows is Friday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. ET
This will be Hotz’s fifth DVD release following “What ever happened to Jeremy Hotz?”, “Oh Canaduh”, “What A Miserable DVD This Is” and “Jeremy Hotz: The Masters Limited Edition DVD” – all hugely successful releases filmed in front of sold out audiences.
One of the most unique stand-up comics working today, Hotz is a proven international success. With four highly acclaimed performances (all receiving standing ovations), at the Montreal Comedy Festival, six sold out national Canadian theatre tours, as well as performances across the U.S., Europe and Australia, Hotz continues to impress audiences with his completely original and confused, yet very astute, observational comedy.
With an impressive career to date, Hotz’s resume includes performances on The Late Show with David Letterman, and five appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He appeared on Comedy Central where he featured in his own stand-up special, and is a talented actor with numerous film and TV credits in addition to writing and performing on the critically acclaimed “The Jon Stewart Show”.
He’s the winner of a Gemini Award and has been honoured with the CCA’s Best Male Stand-Up Award, as well as the Dave Broadfoot Comic Genius Award, the most prestigious comedy award in Canada in addition to receiving the Jury Prize – Best International Performer at the Sydney Comedy Festival in Australia.
Currently in development at both Lionsgate and Pygmy Wolf Productions with original series, Hotz will tour Ontario in October and November with more dates across Canada to be announced soon.
